eID in the Cloud with SCIM
System for Cross-Domain Identity Management (SCIM) describes a new protocol that facilitates and supports the management of e-identities in cloud-based applications and services. In this study we examine identity provisioning in the cloud. In particular we focus on eID in a distributed, cross-organizational environment. The study analyzes several cloud provisioning use cases, as well as the SCIM protocol and existing SCIM implementations. Finally, the report outlines potential application and integration of SCIM, as well as challenges associated with it.
