Use of NFC in eIDs in selected EU countries
In this project, selected NFC-enabled electronic authentication solutions are compared. The German AusweisApp 2, the Italian SPID solution, and the Dutch DigiD solution will be presented and compared. NFC is typically used either to strengthen the remote application for an eID by reading out a conventional ID card (NL DigiD Substantieel, IT SPID) or during the online registration process itself (DE nPA with AusweisApp 2, NL DigiD Hoog). The solutions presented are typical representatives of the two scenarios of NFC use in the course of issuing an eID and the eID use itself.
