Security Comparison of Apps on Android and iOS
In order to gain a better understanding of what influences the security of mobile applications under Android and iOS, typical problem areas in applications in the context of both platforms were investigated in this project.
Embedded in significantly different runtime environments, mobile applications are often developed independently for the two dominant mobile platforms Android and iOS. Different security concepts and development patterns mean that the same applications do not necessarily have the same security features on both platforms.
In the context of this project it was investigated whether and what influence the mobile platform has on the existence of security-critical problems in applications. In the course of this, practical examples will be used to determine whether a platform could possibly favour the presence of development errors.
