Analysis of the Bitcoin UTXO Set
This project describes and analyzes the set of unspent transaction outputs (UTXO set) in Bitcoin. The UTXO set contains all relevant information to validate new transactions and blocks. A significant advantage of the UTXO set is that it requires only a few gigabytes of space, while the Bitcoin blockchain consumes already over 250GB. Furthermore, the UTXO set allows us to analyze the age of the transaction outputs, the amount of Bitcoin tokens hold, as well as the popularity of different transaction types over time.
